FUNCTIONS

The ACM Department of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists is responsible for the primary functions listed below:  

• Leadership, direction and oversight

• Administration of the department, committees and chaplain associations

• Global strategic and contingency assessment and planning,

• Professional standards, policies and ethics

• Development of professional training and continuing education

• Ecclesiastical approval and endorsement

• Coordination of certifying boards and certification of programs

• Budgeting and resources management

• Chaplain integration and accountability with the Church and Adventist ministry

• Evangelistic outreach, discipling and pastoral care

• Operational support for church members in military and public service

• Advocacy and liaison with public professional organizations and military relations
